Technician evacuating a refrigeration system

Refrigeration built around stock protection, not just shelf space.

A supermarket's refrigeration runs every hour it's open, gets its doors opened constantly, and has to lose zero stock to a bad night. Here's how we design for that.

The problem we're solving for

Retail refrigeration runs harder than it looks

Display cases and cold rooms in a retail environment cycle constantly through door openings, restocking and footfall, which means far more duty than the same equipment would see in a back-of-house setting. A single refrigeration failure overnight can mean an entire chiller's worth of stock lost by morning, and equipment specified for footprint alone rather than actual duty cycle tends to underperform and fail early.

Our Approach

How we design a retail refrigeration system

The same engineering-first process we use across every project, applied to continuous retail duty cycles.

1. Duty Cycle & Footfall-Based Sizing

We size display and cold-room refrigeration to actual door-opening frequency and footfall, not a generic capacity figure.

2. Stock-Protection-First Equipment Selection

Equipment is selected for reliability under continuous retail duty, wired into our display chillers and cold rooms ranges.

3. Backup Capacity for Stock-Critical Areas

Where an overnight failure would mean a full loss of stock, we specify backup capacity sized to hold temperature until a technician arrives.

4. Installation Without Closing the Store

Work is sequenced around trading hours so display and cold-room refrigeration stays live through the changeover wherever possible.

After Installation

Built to stay reliable, not just to pass commissioning

Comprehensive Maintenance Tier

High-traffic, continuously-running equipment like this sits on our Comprehensive tier — monthly visits, priority call-out status and guaranteed next-day response. See our maintenance plans.

24/7 Breakdown Response

If a process cooling unit does fail outside a scheduled visit, our rapid response team is dispatched immediately, day or night.

100% In-House Technicians

No subcontractors. The technicians who commissioned your system are the same ones who service it.
