Split Air Conditioners
Wall-mounted split units pair an indoor evaporator with an outdoor condensing unit connected by refrigerant piping, giving single-room or single-zone cooling and heating without ductwork. They remain the most common HVAC solution for offices, consulting rooms, retail units and residential spaces across Kenya because they are quick to install, individually controllable, and available across a wide capacity range.

Key Features
Inverter Technology
Variable-speed compressors modulate output to match room load, cutting running cost against fixed-speed units.
Energy Efficient
High seasonal efficiency ratings reduce electricity draw on continuous-use installations.
Low Noise Operation
Indoor units rated from as low as 19 dB(A) for bedrooms, consulting rooms and quiet offices.
Smart Controls
Wi-Fi and app control, weekly scheduling and remote diagnostics on current-generation models.
Fast Cooling Mode
Boost mode brings rooms to set temperature quickly after start-up or door-open loss.
Corrosion-Resistant Coils
Blue-fin or gold-fin coil coatings extend outdoor unit life in coastal and industrial air.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a split AC installation take?
A standard single-zone installation is normally completed within a day, including electrical connection and commissioning, provided site access and power are ready.
What size unit do I need for my room?
As a rough guide, allow around 600 BTU/hr per square metre of floor area in Kenya's climate, adjusted for glazing, occupancy and heat-generating equipment. Frosten carries out a load calculation on site survey rather than relying on floor area alone.
Can a split AC be moved to another room later?
Yes, but it requires refrigerant recovery, re-piping and re-commissioning by a qualified technician; it is not a simple unplug-and-relocate job.
How often should the unit be serviced?
We recommend filter cleaning monthly in dusty settings and a full technical service every 3–6 months to protect efficiency and warranty cover.
